Erika Sawajiri rumored to play Ayumi Hamasaki in biographical drama series

The colorfully candid and always audacious Erika Sawajiri, is apparently in talks to play her fellow mesmerizing mogul Ayumi Hamasaki in a biographical drama series!

Back in August a biographical novel about Ayu called “M – subeki hito ga ite (There is A Lovable Person)” was released. One of the big revelations from the book was that at one point she was romantically involved with avex’s head honcho Max Matsuura.

A drama adaptation of the novel will be produced by TV Asahi, and is slated to make it’s debut in April with the Spring drama lineup. Yahoo! Singapore has reported that the top actress in the running to play Ayu is none other than Erika herself!

Both Ayu and Erika are under avex so there is a slight connection there, Ayu’s hit “Evolution” was also used as the theme song for Erika’s comeback film “Helter Skelter“. Additionally, Ayu’s song “HEAVEN” was used as the theme for the 2005 film “Shinobi” which also starred Erika.

AKB48 mastermind Yasushi Akimoto commented that the novel does a good job representing the rise to fame, and eventual dark side of the entertainment world. Calling the story relatable, it illustrates a woman giving it her all to achieve her dreams, and eventually becoming hurt from love.

EXILE HIRO is also apparently a member of #TeamAyu, stating the the story is full of passion, dreams, “encounters”, and separations!

Keiko Kitagawa is once again the face that Japanese women want to have

In a survey held by Oricon Japan last month, some 500 Japanese females aged 10 to 50-plus chose the face of the Japanese female celebrity that they want to have the most. Topping the ranking is actress Keiko Kitagawa, who was also the first in last year’s ranking. Here are the top 10 Japanese celebrities whose beauty is most envied among women in Japan. This consecutive win not only marks Kitagawa’s sixth No. 1 place in this ranking that has been running for the 14th time, it is also the first time since 2009 when an actress who is also a mum topped the ranking. Givenchy Appoints Nanao as Japan Ambassador

Givenchy has named Nanao as its new Japan ambassador, marking the first time the French fashion house has appointed a Japanese actress as a face of the brand, it said. A model, actress and TV personality, Nanao has starred in a variety of series and movies since embarking on her career in 2009, including action comedy “Hell’s Garden” and TV show “Ninja ni Kekkon wa Muzukashii,” the story of two ninjas from rival clans who get married without knowing each other’s true identities. Givenchy creative director Matthew M. Williams praised her attitude. “I really admire Nanao for her professional versatility as well as her personal energy and style.
